Disappointing game once again

I watched the crucial match between England and Croatia last night, like most of the people. It's amazing, how rubbish the english players were, yes blame the new goalkeeper who has just 1 cap, aged 22 and been called to save the day in such an important game. What I don't get is,why football and footballers are so damn important that have to get paid S**t loads of money per week and then play like this. The Croatian team were just so organised, well-focused and enthusiastic that each time they showed they are going to score.

McClaren is sacked, that won't help anything unless this team and the players start acting responsibly and fans lower their expectations.England's footabll team won the world-cup in 1966,that doesn't mean they are going to win everything. They have to go to this competitions and forget how great they are in premier league and play not because they are getting paid for it,but as they love to do so.

In the end of the day,it is football and everything is possible as Croatia showed us.Disappointing that we have such great players but they are so spoiled and cared for, that they don't care for anything or anybody.

So true. It's been months since the game but I loved reading every bit of your post. And not for all the praise you had for Croatian team (not that I mind). Of all the pleasure I've felt watching my team beat England for the 2nd time in a row, there was also a huge feeling of pity, not for the English players, not for any of them but maybe Becks who seemed to show more enthusiasm than all the rest together, but for the fans, for the genuine English football legacy that all the folks are so proud of. Whenever in England, my 2 favourite things to do were exploring the beautiful countryside and going to Leeds games (or any other if given the chance, just for the feel of the stands). As far as your arrogant players r concerned, each goal and frown on their faces prolonged my life for at least 5 yrs. Money spoils people but it also spoils football. It killed the magic of team playing and the whole point of football. I used to love watching English team, but that ended with the end of era of Gazza & co. Stuart Pierce used to be my fav player, most of all for his crazy passion. But players like Frank Lampard or any of 'em snobbish 'celebrities'...Blimey. Disgraceful. Apart from not showing any love for the game, where's their goddamn patriotism? The only game they seem to play is 'Show me the money'. But that's how it is in the rest of the world as well. Genuine footballers are extinct, while steroid-fueled robots take over the pitch. So sad. 'Cause what's Euro or a World cup without England? Definitely not as exciting.
